Helen Skelton started off as a reporter and occasional presenter on the children’s news show Newsround and its sports version, Sportsround. On August 28, 2008, she became a presenter on Blue Peter, replacing Zoe Salmon and becoming the show’s 33rd presenter. While working on Blue Peter, she also covered events like Wimbledon as a correspondent. She eventually left the show and was replaced by Ore Oduba in 2016.
In December 2012, Helen joined a Christmas special of Strictly Come Dancing, and she also appeared on Celebrity Antiques Road Trip with her friend and former co-presenter Rebecca Adlington. In December 2013, Helen Skelton married Richie Myler, a player for the England national rugby league team. The couple welcomed their first child, a son, on June 19, 2015. After Richie joined the Catalans Dragons, they moved to France in September that same year. Their second son was born in April 2017, followed by their daughter, who was born on December 28, 2021.
On April 25, 2022, Helen shared on Instagram that she and Richie had separated, and he had left their family home. It was later revealed that Richie’s new partner, Stephanie Thirkill an heiress to the Leeds Rhinos rugby team was expecting a child with him.
