Career Details
In March 2019, He was selected to play for Galle in the Super Provincial One Day Tournament. Later, in October 2020, he joined the Kandy Tuskers team for the first-ever season of the Lanka Premier League (LPL).
Then on February 7, 2023, Mendis was signed by the Pretoria Capitals to play in the SA20 league held in South Africa. In 2014, He was chosen as the captain of Sri Lanka’s Under-19 team for the ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup.
After showing impressive performances at the U-19 level, he made his Test debut for Sri Lanka and became the country’s 132nd Test player. He received his Test cap during the second match of the Sobers-Tissera Trophy against the West Indies.
